After four and a half years of building the car in secret at Ram's Rod Shop in Dover, DE, Terry Cook, former Editor of HOT ROD, and Ramsey Mosher of Ram's Rod Shop in Dover, DE, debuted "SCRAPE", a chopped 1939 Lincoln Zephyr coupe at the NSRA Nats East in York, PA. They also exhibited the car at the Louisville, KY STREET ROD NATIONALS, at LEAD EAST and in Las Vegas, NV at the giant SEMA SHOW.

   During the construction phase, Terry and Ram felt the car was quite different from the ordinary street rod. They thought it was an original change of pace, a breath of fresh air in the sometimes all-the-cars-look-the-same world of street rods and customs. But reaction to the Zephyr was far beyond their wildest expectations. Everywhere the car appeared it drew crowds... big crowds. It appeared on three magazine covers. It has been on numerous TV shows. Plastic 1/25 scale model car kit manufactures and die-cast toy manufacturers contacted us with offers to reproduce the car. It has been depicted on three different T-shirts and numerous posters.

•    The car appeared at Meadow Brook Farms Concours d'Elegance Aug.1, 1999 for Dusenbergs, Bugattis, etc., an invitation-only, classic cars only event. This is the first Hot Rod or Custom to be honored by being invited this year to that prestegious and highly exclusive classic car event in the past five years.
  Over the weekend fo Sept 24-26, 1999 the car was invited and appeared at the Louis Vuitton Classic at Rockafeller Center in midtown Manhattan New York City, along with Ralph Lauren's Bugatti and 46 other incredible classics.
  
•    The car was selected for the BEST OF THE BEST posters and national magazine advertising by The ABSORBER, a highly prestegious accolade for any car, and one of the top honors in the world of rods & customs.
•    The car has been invited to be exhibited in Chicago at the Museum of Science and Industry, the first street rod or custom ever to be so invited.
•    The car was booked for a 13-city tour of Championship Auto Shows from Nov. 1998 in Houston to mid-April, 1999 in Green Bay, WI. It was THE feature vehicle of that top-of-the-line show circuit.
•    The car was booked for four appearances in the Summer of 1999 from Minneapolis to Louisville, Columbus and Parsippany, NJ.
