| His education and experience has been in Colorado, initially studying art and sculpture under Andrew Baird, and later a brief study at Red Rocks Community College. Under Baird, Dave began by using ceramic mediums and sold his first bronze in 1975. His first two pieces were cowboys. One, called "Renegade," was cast by Charlie Nugaris in Charlie's garage. |

| Dave has worked on and helped to build several monuments in the Denver Metro Area, working under several local artists including Lonnie Hanson, Barry Rose, Laura Meihmert, and Rick Sergeant. The bronze tile work in the Pavilion at City Park was a community service project under the direction of Barry Rose. A piece designed by Lonnie Hanson, "Evolution of the Ball," is located east of Coors Field. Laura Meihmert's piece, "The Foreman," now stands in Evergreen at the Hiwan Homestead. "Stone Hinge," designed by Barry Rose, at the UNC campus, is yet another piece Dave had a hand in. | ![]() |

| During his 2 1/2 years at the Denver Marriott, Dave worked closely with Mark Burkner from California. Through Mark's instruction, he was able to study the fine art of ice carving. There, he carved about 75 pieces for various weddings and business functions, including one outside monument that he designed, weighing about 6,000 lbs., for the Marriott's 15th anniversary. | ![]() |

He is now illustrating a children's book titled "Agapito's Christmas" by author Dickie Montmayor. Dave is planning to teach art in his home studio. The primary medium is sculpture.
